Congrats, John! That is awesome! I love a good story of someone grabbing the American dream by the horns and you totally have!

Your not weird, just funny. Congrats. You are inspiring me to get serious about this stuff! Shipping internationally has been something I've shied away from due to one problem but I'm going to rethink. I think you also have a good niche. ~LuvJones

    Hey John,

First off, congrats on the big number!

I hope to hit it myself one day, though as it stands I'm staring in the face of 10k myself sometime in '09.

Now, how many did you jump overnight when eBay adjusted FB? I think I got about 1,500 of my 8,500 that way.

Got a new one for you on the big seller/small seller divide:

Q: Do you pack your own boxes?

Ha, you know where I stand on this question, just needling you, but it's a pretty good one, isn't it?

    Thanks,Cliff

Thanks for the well wishes guys!

Hey Cliff, we got a 3000 boost when the feedback change went into effect. That is why I missed celebrating the 50K cause we surpassed it with the change.

As for packing the boxes, this is a 2 person operation. I do all the listing and description stuff and my partner packs them all. So 1 person packed every single one of them.

Again, as big as you want me to be, the smaller I actually am :-)

It's funny, John, I was really kidding you with the "packing boxes" Q, but your answer is actually one that I think you can use in reply to anyone accusing you of being big and/or out of touch with "smaller" sellers. While only the slightest stretch, "I pack every box myself," does have a certain ring of "small"-seller street-cred to it.

    Thanks,Cliff
