You are right that is exactly what has already happened.
Will Ebay be able to turn it around. Thats anybody guess at this point. But I do believe they are working on it !

I hope so too, and I hope the "tone" of the video comes across properly. No one likes to leave home, but if the parents kick you out the basement, you got to be outtie, LOL

The three things that kill a business are,
greed, bad customer support and loss of respect by the users...

It seems ebay has almost accomplished all three in the past year. If they continue on the present course, its only a matter of a few years and they will be history...

That was excellent! John, I wish Ebay would get their heads out of...the sky, but I don't see it happening. And if they choose not to, it's not necessarily a bad thing. Maybe Amazon would be better for the bigger sellers and maybe Bonanzle for the smaller ones, who knows. Just like your video was about the laws of gravity, their are many more universal laws, such as what you project, you get right back, or treat others the way you would like to be treated.

Too bad they don't teach those basic principles in grad school. Because those are the ones that really count.

    Nice explanation, John!

When you add the unquantifiable elements of human emotion, anger, disappointment, disillusionment, the distance increases exponentially and immeasurably.

While it's true business should not be run by emotions, I daresay eBay has lost many small sellers due in part to the intangible elements of emotion.

Ebay has been operating in a vaccuum. Real life is not like that. They need the help of specialists "outside" of their business, for an accurate appraisal. They would have to pay through the nose for that. I don't think they enjoy spending on useful things.
